For those of you who have been waiting patiently for the Ethiopian fruit bombs, rejoice they have finally landed. The Suez canal and Covid means they are late to the party, but as always they will steal the show. This is the first of 6 different Ethiopian natural lots we will offer over the next 6 months.

We start with a microlot from Yirgacheffe that has that prized blueberry note. But graded at the top of the scale there is very little funk to this coffee at all, its very, very clean with some nice florals dancing over the top of those super sweet berry notes.

This coffee is produced by Wolde Hirbe and processed as a separate micro lot at the Adame Gorbota Coop where Wolde is a member. This coop is located in the district of Wenago in the Gedeo Zone.

Wolde Hirbe is part of the single producer project developed jointly between the Yirgacheffe coffee farmers coop union and Royal Coffee Oakland. A project initiated in 2012 with a select group of model farmer/producers who have been willing to work within a rigorous set of processing standards to achieve higher cup qualifications. In exchange for agreeing to these standards the idea is for producers to achieve higher quality premiums for their lots.

Wolde with 30 years cultivating coffee under his belt across a 10 acre farm was selected for this project for his experience. His micro lot coffees like this one regularly achieve the grade 1 status that enables him to better support his family of 10.

This is a versatile coffee across a spectrum of brew methods, we suggest keeping the water temp high and letting rest for a minimum of 10 days after roast. After that the party is on....simply brew, play the suggested listening music and sit back and marvel at the wondrous beauty of coffee and music.

In Particular Ethiopian Coffee and bassline in music....some might say one of lifes great pairings.
